Presentation

The former São Sebastião Market has been transformed into a garden – São Sebastião Garden – with concrete replaced by green spaces and footpaths, forming a central hub within the city’s urban fabric.

This project contributes to increasing the amount of urban green space, improving rainwater infiltration, regulating the local microclimate, carbon sequestration, improving air quality and creating habitat for living beings such as pollinating insects and urban birds.

In addition to its ecological benefits, this intervention also has a social dimension, transforming this space into a public green area that provides greater safety for local residents.
