Metrosideros on Avenida de Montevideu

The tree line on Avenida de Montevideu, in Foz do Porto, is made up of 82 Metrosideros excelsa, salinity- and wind-resistant trees typical of New Zealand. This green corridor protects against salt spray, regulates the temperature, offers shade and attracts pollinators with its red flower.
Platanus in Rua do Crasto

One of Foz’s most emblematic tree-lined streets, flanked on both sides by sycamore trees which, in addition to their ecological functions, promote pedestrian comfort by providing areas of shade and pleasant spaces for movement, while at the same time increasing the area’s climate resilience.
Platanus in Rua de Gondarém

It is one of the longest streets in Foz do Porto and is lined with 30 to 40-year-old plane trees that regulate the temperature, offer shade and recreation, filter pollutants and improve air quality, while supporting local biodiversity and contributing to the area’s climate resilience.

Horta do Aldoar

A vegetable garden, created in 2003 in the António Aroso neighborhood, has 672 m² and 13 plots for organic farming and circular economy, with composting. It promotes more sustainable practices, at the same time that it is a leisure space that promotes the physical and psychological well-being of urban gardeners.
