Presentation

The Self-Consumption Production Unit at the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Sobreiras consists of 635 photovoltaic panels that produce clean energy to power the WWTP’s operations.

These panels have a capacity of 387 KWp and an estimated production of 619 MW/h per year, representing savings of around 80.000 euros per year on the energy bill.

The unit covers the administrative building and the roof of the WWTP’s treatment facilities, with a total installation area of 1.715 m².

This project is a clear example of how the city’s electrical infrastructure is being modernised to promote renewable energy production and reduce Porto’s environmental footprint, in line with the Pacto do Porto para o Clima 2030.

OTHER SUGGESTIONS

The Agra do Amial Renewable Energy Community (REC) was implemented in 2024 with the aim of supplying and sharing electricity between the buildings that make up the REC, in a self-consumption model. The total installed power is around 127 kWp, distributed across 233 photovoltaic solar panels, of which 205 are located in the Agra do Amial […]
458 photovoltaic panels were installed with a total power of 208.39 kWp, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This installation is part of the Porto Solar project, which aims to promote energy efficiency and independence in 29 municipal buildings, guaranteeing the use of renewable energy.
80 photovoltaic panels were installed at Torrinha Elementary School, with a capacity of 36,40 kWp. The panels generate 51.445,32 kW/h of electricity annually, 74,22% of which is consumed by the school itself. This represents a reduction in emissions of 8,02 tonnes of CO₂/year. This intervention was carried out as part of the Porto Solar project, […]
